- Home to Lyric, Saskatchewan's oldest operating theatre. It was built in 1912 at a cost of $50,000, and is considered the "crown jewel" of Swift Current's historical downtown buildings. The EI Wood Building is the city's tallest building.
- The Imperial Hotel is the longest-running business in Swift Current. The hotel is known as the Big "I", and was built in 1903. It was used as proof that Swift Current should be given village status. The hotel's owner, R.H. Corbett of Medicine Hat, needed the designation to obtain a liquor licence.
- Home to the Windscape Kite Festival, the largest of its kind in Western Canada.
- Home to the Swift Current Broncos, a hockey team that has launched the careers of Joe Sakic and Dave "Tiger" Williams.
